Turtle Lake Monster
Saskatchewan Canada’s Turtle Lake is reported to have an alleged cryptid or lake monster inhabiting its waters. The monster has been spoken of and sightings reported for centuries going back to Indian legends stating that “anyone foolish enough to intrude info the monsters territory would not return”. With reports varying on the creatures size from 10-30 feet long and its skin texture ranging from smooth to scaly and having a seahorse like head, its hard to get an idea of its origins.
Many people think the sighting at Turtle Lake can be attributed to a giant sturgeon that are known to inhabit the lake and have for years. But many people don’t believe this to be the case as sturgeon are usually bottom-dwellers who are very seldom spotted at the waters surface. Another theory popular to the origins of lake monsters is that it could very well be a Plesiosaur or a descendent of these creatures which lived in the region millions of years ago when much of Saskatchewan was covered by an inland sea.
Which of these theories are correct ? Maybe one day soon some Turtle Lake will decide to let its secret be known and someone will be lucky enough to find this mysterious creature !
